Abstract

This research aims to understand the security and safety aspects of students participating in internship programs in Japan, as seen from the experiences and perceptions of students from the Japanese Department at the National University who have participated or are currently participating in such programs. The study identifies obstacles and analyzes issues related to the safety of students joining internship programs in Japan.

It is expected that this research can serve as a reference and benchmark for prospective interns and increase interest among students who plan to participate in internship programs in Japan. The research employed questionnaire and interview techniques, involving 18 student respondents from the Japanese Department at the National University who had joined or were currently joining an internship program in Japan. The questionnaire included multiple-choice and open-ended questions.

The collected data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The findings of this study are intended to increase student interest and participation in internship programs in Japan while addressing and alleviating concerns regarding safety and security during the internship period.
